Archers Take Home ROPSSAA Gold!

DSC_0530_051Last week the archery team consisting of boys and girls in the Olympic and Standard categories had incredible success. Eight Olympic athletes and five standard have qualified for OFSAA.

On Wednesday Emad Ahmed qualified in boys’ standard. The girls team placed second with outstanding archery by Leticia Rodrigues and Nadia Al Hashemi. The highlight of the day was Emily Crowe winning the gold medal as an individual!

The next day, the Mentor College girls totally dominated the competition. Ashley Whyte won bronze, followed by sisters Kaitlyn and Tasha Liang placing fourth and fifth. With Bronwyn Chesterfield, Sarah Crawley and Alison Andrade all scoring superior results, the Mentor Girls team won the ROPSSAA Championship.

Yes, these girls took the title and with many returning next year, the future is promising.
