Friday February 6 marked the date of the 4th annual Carnaval de Québec à Mentor. Students had the opportunity to participate in Carnaval-inspired outdoor activities including giant soccer, broomball, effigie, obstacle course and our very own cabane à sucre.
Students also participated in the opening and closing ceremonies where they watched videos about the Carnaval in Quebec, participated in a class parade, and sang a version of “Bonhomme Bonhomme” featuring our very own Mentor students! Grade 5/6 students enjoyed a play put on by their fellow peers.
Each assembly honoured members of the royal family appointed for their enthusiasm and love of French. Thank you goes out to Nicholas Harrington and Sejal Jain for being fabulous in their portrayal of “Bonhomme Carnaval”. Thank you to all members of the intermediate division for your enthusiasm and participation. Joyeux Carnaval!
