At the High School level, students continue to develop the 4 skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening – with the emphasis being on speaking. Students are expected to proficiently talk about personal preferences and activities while they are also expected to learn to write well-crafted sentences.
In Grades 11 and 12, students learn to gain an appreciation of French music and culture. Students are provided opportunities to understand and interact with the type of language that they would encounter in the real world, by listening to and watching radio and TV broadcasts. Grade 12 students have the opportunity to shine in culminating activities like French speech night or multi-media presentations!
The AP (Advanced Placement) French course is offered to those students who meet the criteria for acceptance.
