Great Finish For Marauder Wrestlers

The Mentor College wrestling team competed at both the Junior and Senior ROPSSAA wrestling tournaments on February 12th and 19th. 12 athletes competed at the Junior tournament and proved that hard work does pay off! Stunning many opponents along the way and establishing their presence within the region, the Marauders were able to qualify 4 wrestlers for the senior championships. Athletes finishing in the top 6 were:

Gold: Leticia Rodrigues
Silver: Viduran Thanarajah
Bronze: David Kumar
4th: Eric Meandro
5th: Charles Cao
6th: Tanvir Singh

Those qualifying junior wrestlers along with the senior crew, competed at the Senior ROPSSAA championships at Turner Fenton High School. Mentor brought 8 athletes and every one of them finished on the podium. Wrestlers again proved themselves by digging deep and making a name for themselves within the region. Gritty efforts by all who competed resulted in the following:

Silver: Viduran Thanarajah, Leticia Rodrigues, David Kumar
4th: Eric Meandro, Gurjot Ravi
5th: Justin Eng
6th: Kevin Neto, Sandra Kralj

Coaches Miller, Cipriano and D’Aguilar want to congratulate all who competed and worked hard this season. Best of luck to Leticia and Viduran as they train for the OFSAA competition in early March!
