Mentor College/TEAM School - Statement on Inclement Weather
Today is NOT a snow day. Our buses are running and schools are open.
If you think there is a possibility of a snow day, there are two good ways to check (and one not-so-good way):
1) Click this webpage (the quickest and most up-to-the-minute way)
2) Check your email (but only if you are on the email update!)
3) Listen to the radio (CFRB 1010-AM mentions school closures every 10 minutes or so) or watch TV (CityTV usually has the information every 30 minutes). Note that during the last few storms, the radio and TV stations often say something intelligent like "due to the number of private school bus cancellations, please call your school". This of course does not help you or us, as our phone lines are jammed during these mornings with people who did not try steps 1 or 2 above.
Snow days will be posted to this page no later than 7:00 a.m.. If you are checking this page after 7:00 a.m. and it says that it is not a Snow Day, then the school is open and the buses are running as usual.
If a "Snow Day" has been declared:
1) All school activities are cancelled unless posted otherwise on this page;
2) That "day" in the cycle is skipped - for example, if a Snow Day occurs on a Day 1, then those classes are skipped and the following day would be a Day 2.
Indoor Recess - When the temperature reaches -20 degrees Celsius (absolute temperature or windchill temperature), students in the Primary, Intermediate, and TEAM divisions do not go outside for recess.
