Everybody (In The Primary Division) Wants To Be A Cat! June 30 2010

The 2010 Primary Campus musical had audiences purring with laughter on the evenings of June 8 and 10! The JK to Grade 4 annual production included a jazzy pit band with xylophone, percussion, and a drummer!

The students didn't miss a beat throughout the performances - which brought this classic "tail" to life with toe-tapping numbers, great one-liners, and some terrific dancing!

In one parent's opinion, this year's production of "The Aristocats" "was even better than last year's "Lion King" - which I didn't think could be topped! I don't know how these kids do it!"

Deer-Watching With The Grade 1s May 21 2010

Mentor Grade 1 students in Miss Dissanayake's and Mrs. Koster's Primary classes had a wonderful field trip to Mississauga Gardens this week. The group was exploring the forest near the Credit River and was very lucky to come across a herd of deer eating and resting in a grassy clearing. The beautiful deer watched the Grade 1s for a little while as well before walking a little further away. It was a perfect day for this adventure as the students also fed chipmunks, looked at life up close at the pond, and observed signs of spring. The kids knew how to identify poison ivy so they made sure to avoid walking through it. No one wanted an itchy long weekend.

The Grade 3 soccer teams had a memorable and exciting day at their annual tournament at Mississauga Private School. The boys started off the day with 2 big wins, with shutouts earned by Davide and Cole, and excellent defense by Jonathan and Ahad. They made the semi-finals where they ultimately lost a tough game against Fern Hill Oakville. Honorable mentions go to Ryan, Marcus, Matthew, Sean and Damian. The girls’ team did exceptionally well and won 1st place overall! They were undefeated in all games with only one goal against them. The games featured great goaltending by Emma and Melina, good defense by Katie, Laura, Amanda and Julia, and excellent effort and teamwork by our forwards, Michelle, Lexi, Thalia and Amelia.
