At this week’s Intermediate Division Leaders For Change meeting, discussion included the 6.7 magnitude earthquake suffered in Nepal, in which aftershocks were still felt days later. The devastation produced heavy losses for the country and Leaders For Change wondered whether the region affected included the recent work that was done by High School’s Habitat for Humanity group that traveled there during the March Break.
It turns out that the region in which our High School students worked was not affected, but shocking numbers describe what many are calling Nepal’s worst natural disaster in more than eighty years. Leaders For Change decided they would donate $300 from their funds – which will be matched by the government. It is our hope that even this small gesture can make a difference to relief efforts in Nepal.
