LFC (Leaders For Change) At We Day!

Last Thursday, Intermediate Division members of LFC (Leaders For Change) attended WeDay Toronto at Scotiabank Arena. The group submitted the following report:

On our trip to We Day we saw many inspiring people such as Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Lilly Singh, Johnny Orlando, Nick Robinson, Olivia Holt, Ann Curry, Miss Piggy and We co-founders Craig and Marc Kielburger.

These speakers motivated us to contribute to society. That means you don’t have to do anything big, you can simply help someone who is lost, pick up garbage at school or on the street.

Don’t take anything for granted.

Life goes by very fast; be grateful for what you have.

Be true to yourself.

If you have an idea just say it – don’t be afraid to speak your mind.

Stand up for what you believe in.

One of the stories that really inspired us was Mariatu Kamara, who was a survior of the civil war in Sierra Leone. She said “The rebels may have taken my hands, but now I can touch the world with my heart”

We had a really good time listening to all these inspirational speakers. Now it’s time to make a difference.
