Mission Accomplished: Mock Trial Team in NYC

mockLast weekend saw 12 Mentor High School students travel to Brooklyn, New York to represent Canada at the Empire City International Mock Trial Tournament. After taking in many sights and making friends from several countries around the world, the group got down to business.

This year Mentor was joined in the tournament by Bayview Secondary School of Richmond Hill. Upon learning that the tournament had a second Canadian school in the 40-team pool, the group set a realistic goal of finishing the tournament with a higher rank than their Canadian rivals.

Mentor finished with the best record among the Canadian schools and reminded everyone why we have one of the top high school mock trial programs in the country. Congratulations go to Samantha Figenshaw, Imaan Virani, Serina Grewal, Caleb Larrier, Matthew Rowland, Evan Bennewies, Vienna Venditelli, Sarah Raja, Kathryn Torriano, Mustafa Bengali, Tracy Wu and Alisha Krishna!
