On Monday April 25, the HS Habitat for Humanity Club launched its Plant Project in partnership with the Grade 4 Environment Club at the Primary Campus. Together, these students hope to grow beautiful flowers and vegetables for new Habitat for Humanity homeowners in the area.
This educational activity was an opportunity for Primary and HS students and teachers to plant seeds, learn more about Habitat, and ask each other questions about germination, home ownership and so forth. Students are delighted to say that their seeds have begun to sprout in just one week!
Pictured here are Habitat Club members Chad, Marissa, Thomas, and Shanaya with Environment Club members: Kerstin, Skylar, Abby, Megan. This opportunity would not have been possible, had it not been for the soil, seed, and pot donations from Down 2 Earth (158 Park Lawn Rd.) and Rona (1133 Dundas St. W).
