On Wednesday, as a celebration of the differences in each of our personalities, the staff and students across the Mentor/TEAM community took part in Day Of Pink 2015. Introduced by the Grade 8 Initiative Club four years ago, the Day Of Pink now includes all divisions of Mentor/TEAM. The day started when David Shepherd and Travis Price saw a student being bullied in their Central Kings Rural High School in Nova Scotia and supported the student by getting everyone at school to wear pink in support of him.
This year, the students and staff had the opportunity to demonstrate their “pink-ness” by wearing pink shirts, ties, scarves, and other accessories to support our cause. As always, the Mentor/TEAM community came together and Day Of Pink created a sea of Mentor/TEAM pink! The Grade 8 Initiative Club would like to thank all the students and teachers that made this amazing day a success, and remind our community that while Day Of Pink may happen just once a year, kindness can be spread year-round!
