Primary Division

img_3076Drama is a very important and vibrant activity at the Primary Campus.

There is also a lunch-time drama club in which students enjoy acting out familiar stories and nursery rhymes while focusing on body awareness, creative movement, facial expression, mime, and voice projection.Every year, the students in JK to Grade 4 perform a year-end musical in which all students participate – as actors, singers, dancers, pit band musicians, or chorus members.

The 2016 musical was The Lion King. In past years, the students have performed such favourites as Aladdin, Willy Wonka Kids, A Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, The Aristocats, 101 Dalmatians, The Wizard of Oz, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Jungle Book, Beauty & The Beast, and more.

Intermediate Division

364a6220The auditorium at the Main Campus is quite a busy venue for a variety of activities – one of them being the Grades 5 to 8 year-end musical. In this annual two-night performance, all of the students in the division have the opportunity to shine as singers, dancers, or chorus members. With pit band support from the high school band, the Intermediate musical is spectacular event.

The 2016 musical was Beauty & The Beast. Over the years, the students have performed Guys & Dolls, Shrek: The Musical, Cinderella, Seussical The Musical, Oliver, Anne Of Green Gables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Music Man, and many, many more.

High School Division

In High School, there are three opportunities for performance on stage. In December of each year, students perform a musical featuring singing, dancing, acting, and a spectacular pit band. In recent years, students have performed productions such as Crazy For You, Hot Mikado, A Chorus Line, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Chicago. Most recently, the 2016 school production was The Sound Of Music.

_rt_2062Every Spring, the High School drama department produces a play. The 2016 production was The Dining Room.  In the second term, the Hoffmann Drama Collective participates in the Sears Ontario Drama Festival with plays written, acted and directed by students.
