On Monday, Mentor/TEAM students rode in their fourth Inside Ride event! Grades 7/8 students lead the way in the morning ride – with over 50 teams of 6 cyclists riding for highest mileage, best costume, and top team spirit medals!
As hard as the students worked, it was all in celebration of the hard work they had done for the month leading up to the event. Students campaigned and fundraised hard – in the end raising almost $95,000 – 100% of which goes to helping children and families living with and beyond cancer.
Grades 7/8 students rode, sang, and danced in the morning event and in the afternoon, it was the HS students’ turn. Students (along with staff support) co-ordinate the event with the CTCACF (Coast To Coast Against Cancer Foundation). Each year, the event is run in honour and in memory of former Mentor student Jenna Santelli – who after a long, hard-fought battle passed away in 2010 at the age of 12. Funds are directed to Jenna’s Angels in support of Sick Kids Hospital.
