The HS swim team is off to a great start this year following the St. Mike’s mini-meet. All swimmers swam hard and really worked on their dives and turns prior to the meet in order to achieve great results. Special mentions go out to Joshua Shieh and Kuba Zielinski.
It is Joshua’s first year with the team. With a few seconds lost on his 100m freestyle at the St. Mike’s meet, Joshua did not lose motivation and placed first at pre-ROPSSAA with a time 10 seconds better than his previous time, and the only boy to swim the 100m freestyle in under a minute. Super job, Joshua!
Kuba has been working to improve his butterfly time and had success at both St. Mike’s and pre-ROPSSAA, placing 2nd in both his 50m fly races. Keep working Kuba!
The girls had success at the meets as well, with both senior girls’ relays placing in the top 3, and Meagan McDowell coming in with a second place finishing backstroke time. Special mentions also go out to Cheryl Chen and Vienna Venditelli for their top 3 place finishes at both meets.
Great job athletes: your coaches can only expect more improvements as we prepare for ROPSSAA.
