Writer Eric Walters Visits/Inspires Classes

This afternoon, renowned Canadian author (of over a hundred novels) Eric Walters visited the Main Campus this afternoon and delivered engaging presentations to the Grades 6 and 8 classes. Throughout his talk, Mr. Walters enlightened, engaged, and entertained his audience with stories, lessons, and anecdotes about his writing and his adventures in travelling the world.

Jonathan Castagna in Ms. Drost’s class had this to say about the presentation, “I have been here since Grade 1 and this was one of the best assemblies ever! Mr. Walters told us a lot of different stories and kept us engaged right until the end!” Many of Jonathan’s classmates have already read books by Eric Walters and others purchased books at today’s presentation.

Nora Kopaee was inspired to “go on adventures and travel.” Radhika Ram wants to climb mountains, and Matteo Pelosi knows that he would definitely like to “make a living doing something he loves” like Eric Walters.

In addition to having been appointed to the Order of Canada, Mr. Walters founded and runs the Creation of Hope, an organization providing care for orphans in the Mbooni district of Kenya. We thank Mr. Walters for his visit today and look forward to his upcoming presentations to the Grades 5 and 7 classes.
