The Outreach Club ran its 3rd Annual Fill-A-Bin Campaign – collecting much-needed toiletry items for the residents at Youth Without Shelter. This year’s campaign ran from February 9 to 23 – with 500 items donated by HS students and faculty. The toiletries were then delivered to the Youth Without Shelter facility on February 16 – when a group of talented and committed Outreach Club students went to paint a resident’s room. It started with the artistic vision of Grace Nguyen, which then “blossomed” into a beautiful mural with the help of Vidhi Maini, Charily Zhang, Nicky Qian, Yilin Wang and Tala Alkhaldi.
Ms. Zorec and Mr. George, who supervised and did a little painting, too, were impressed by the fantastic attitudes and dedication of the students involved. The administration of Youth Without Shelter was more than impressed themselves with the final results!
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
