Mentor College / TEAM School have become the Inside Ride’s top fundraising school In Canada! If you have ever experienced the Inside Ride at Mentor College, you have surely witnessed the teamwork, camaraderie, and sense of school spirit that was present as students, teachers, principals, and parents ride in honour of a very special person to try to help get rid of a terrible disease.
In honour of Mentor/TEAM student Jenna Santelli, Mentor/TEAM Grades 7-12 students have taken part in the Inside Ride for the past three years. In November 2015, the students raised $50,000 – 100% of which will be directed to the Jenna’s Angels foundation to help with building a new Research Tower in Jenna’s name at the Hospital For Sick Children.
Over the past 5 events, Mentor/TEAM students have raised over $480,000 through the Inside Ride. As Mentor/TEAM director Mr. Macdonald wrote, “At the end of the Inside Ride event, I was pleased to speak to our student, teacher, and parent participants. I told them that they were amazing; but more importantly, that what they had done was amazing. Their fundraising totals for the event and their enthusiasm during the day was amazing and they had truly made a difference in the efforts to eliminate children’s cancers in supporting SickKids, The Inside Ride, and Jenna’s Angels.”
